I am walking down a warm empty road, it must be midday. There are buildings on both sides of the road, but none in front. I see a man walking down the left side, and I suddenly feel cold. I keep walking though quicker than before. I know something is wrong with him. He begins to walk towards me and try to strike up a conversation but I know exactly where it will lead. I make a mad dash for a building but before I could open the door he grabs me.

Somehow I manage to rustle my way into a bar and he throws me to the floor, stunning me. I turn back with a terrified expression on my face. He grabs me by the hair and pulls me to my knees, turning me around and making me face the people of the bar before pressing a gun to the back of my head. I sob and shake and squeeze my eyes closed as he pulls the trigger. It's a blank. I wail even louder than before, I feel as if I'm going to puke. He does it again. And again. And again until nine bullets would've been fired into my skull. After the fourth bullet, I begin to calm down. My breathing steadies and I am swept away in thought. I still cry, and I still shake, but it is better than before. I'm sure the tenth time I would've been dead.

He pulls me to my feet and drags me to his car, throwing me into the backseat. I make no effort to escape. I'm not scared anymore, I even want him to like me. We stop at a corner store and I am ordered to stay in the car. He can't see me from where he’s at, but I do as I'm told. We go to another corner store and I am sent to run an errand. I could have run away, but I didn't. Again, I do as I'm told. I don't want to run away.

When I get back to the car, there is a girl in the passenger's seat. I assume her to be the man's girlfriend. She's quietly yelling at him, saying I would run away. I must've surprised them both judging by the look on their faces. They make fun of me, calling me submissive and weak. Saying he didn't like me, that I'm ugly. I don't like her, I'm jealous.

We drove to the fair and when I got out, I asked if I could get a soda. He says something about food and sends me off with some money to get a soda. When the sun begins to set, we drive to Mom's house. I am told to get out and grab something before we leave. When I walk in, Mom is in the living room. I say hi and that I need to get something. She nods.

I head to my room and sit down in my chair. I don't need to do anything. Why would I listen? Why should I obey? I force myself to think rationally, physically and mentally fighting the urge to go running back. I rest my head in my hands and wake abruptly.

I look towards the sandy hill. The sky is clear and it's so bright it must be the nicest day of the year. All my friends are in swimsuits, I am too, I just need somewhere to put my things. There are wooden spokes lining the bottom of the hill, and I lean my phone against one of them. I consider that I could get into trouble for not being able to answer my family if they contacted me, but I don't care enough to counter my decision.

We begin to climb the unnaturally tall hill, our feet sliding as we attempt to regain our grip. Once I get to the top I peer over the steep drop. I thought about how fun it would be to dive off, but after a more careful inspection I realized how shallow the water is. I look to my left and see everybody climbing down the conveniently sloped terrain. I follow them.

The coast is beautiful, the clear waters coating it with every breath. I spot an island not too far from it, and my friends begin to swim towards it. They usher me closer, telling me I should film it. I agree and begin to swim towards the island with a camera. Once I arrive, one of the boys yells back to the coast, annoyed, saying I didn't have the camera and we didn't get the footage.

I almost feel suffocated from thirst, and I beat myself up a bit for not bringing water on such a hot day. I tell my friends I'd be back and return to the coast, spotting a wooden pathway into what seems like a hotel. I follow it and arrive at a mostly empty gift shop. There are two workers there, an obviously unoccupied black woman working the counter, and a white girl stocking the roughly 60's themed shelves.

I say my awkward hellos and walk towards the water, sliding as if I'm wearing roller skates. I make a less awkward joke about it and the woman laughs. The girl stocking the shelves begins to be distressed, frantically looking around and shouting for "Jerry", the third employee. She pauses in fear before looking inside the freezer. He's frozen in the ice but his eyes are still wide and moving, he's sobbing. She tries to get him out but it is little use.

I'm home and, having not been able to get water, am still thirsty. I'm not hungry, but I want something to eat too. There's nothing to eat except half of a leftover sandwich. I know I should leave it alone, because it's not mine, but I take a few bites anyway. I hear the keys rattle in the doorway and try and cover up my tracks by swallowing the bite and rushing the box back into the refrigerator.

at jaydes house, talking about a movie. start kissing. moves her hand low. i stop her and tell her i cant because ill find someone else. shes upset. says we should watch the movie because it put some things in perspective for her and maybe it will for me too. the movie has a reference to a diary of a teenage girl, or rather reveals that the background was a reference to a horror film.

vacationing. bethany is there, this boy is too. we hit it off pretty well and all want to go out and do something. mom reluctantly agrees. we go down to the beach and rent a room for the night. have some sort of encounter (?) i dont remember what happened exactly. lady knocks and walks in with a little card, asks if we'd like another day and we stutter and say yes. we decide to go to a restaurant. see drew run up to him and kiss him. kiss him for a whiile. tell him to come to the car(truck), he does. kiss more. he looks thinner with a smaller face and he talks normally. say its suspicious to be so far away and pull closer into the parking lot right next to a bunch of people. he's uncomfortable.

back at camp next year, its outside. landon is replaced with a new counselor. white with dirty blonde hair and stubble. wearing a shirt saying something along the lines on my wives are in heaven, applejack fluttershy and rainbow dash in the clouds with the sun. bit of glitter/texture. we talk for a second and he's alright, energetic. at dads, want to play poker. i ask someone and they say to look around for a group. i walk by the kitchen and there are two people having sex, they stare at me. i walk to dads room and see one man, admittedly on the smaller side, under the covers. a few cards in his hand. he must be playing alone. in the woods testing something out. can point a dot and click a button, and whatevers being pointed at is shot all the way through. i point it at somebody's thigh for a moment, theyre hung up on a tree looking at me and talking, but they dont seem concerned. i point away and create another small hole in a tree, again, all the way through the thick trunk.
